Immigration Event

An event is scheduled in the upstate of South Carolina that will benefit individuals interested in receiving information about immigration laws. Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services employee Vanessa Garcia is assisting with planning and arrangements. This event, which is primarily for the Latino community, will be held this Saturday, May 11 from 9 am-2 pm at Santa Maria Magdalene (St. Mary Magdalene). Attendees may find this church at 2252 Woodruff Road Simpsonville, SC 29681. A group of attorneys that practice in different areas of immigration law will be there to answer legal questions from the Latino community. The Mexican Consulate will be present, as well attorneys practicing in the areas of property, immigration, family and criminal law. Space is limited for this event and reservations are required. Conway Grand Opening

Catholic Charities is proud to announce the official grand opening and blessing of our new office in Conway! This office will serve the entire Pee Dee area and can be found at 2294 Technology Blvd. Conway, SC 29526.

Charitable outreach is one of the main missions of the Catholic Church. The Diocese of Charleston has moved its Catholic Charities office in the Pee Dee so that it is more centrally located to those in need of assistance. On Monday, May 13, at 4:30, Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone will bless the new building. Catholic Charities staff will host a grand opening that all are invited to attend. At first, the new facility will offer food assistance and prescription aid. In the upcoming months, it will offer dental and vision assistance, senior care and laundry facility for the homeless.
